....mine. I took this photo of a fake skull because it looks different than my other photos. I like the shadow in the background and I didn't crop it out because I think you need it to complete the picture.

Rule of Thirds

Rule of Thirds that I found....

....my Rule of Thirds. I chose to take a picture of my doll because with the dog, it makes it interesting. I also edited it to make it look older because I think it goes along with the theme of the doll.

Interesting Aesthetic

Interesting Aesthetic photo that I found....

....my photograph. I chose to take a picture of my purse because I really like it and I liked how the light reflected off the buckle. I made it black and white so that the background wasn't distracting--plus I didn't like my carpet :)

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition photo....

....my juxtapostion picture. I chose to arrange my journals on each other because I love to write stories and it is something that represents me. I added the texture to it to make it seem more sketched or like it was drawn. I think that this is a good way to show juxtaposition.

Focal Point

....my Focal Point picture. I chose to take this picture because the journal and the rings mean a lot to me. I loved the way the heart made the rings look like they were glowing. The main focus is on the rings so it works well for this category.

Breaking the Rules

Breaking the Rules that I found....

....mine. I saw this ginormous kite in Milwaukee. I thought it would be a good picture for something in this class. It turned out to work for this category. I edited out people who were walking at the bottom of the picture-I didn't think that they were important. I also think that the colors work well together.

Axial

Axial landscape....

....my axial photo. I chose to do the back of a car because it's a good example of axial symmetry. I edited out a sticker and made the background darker so that the main focus is on the car.

Back, Mid, Foreground

Back, mid, foreground photo....

....my photograph. I took this picture in Milwaukee as well. I edited out a lot of objects that I thought distracted from the buildings. I like how the grass and the sky look together. There's not a ton of color so it isn't too distracting.

Radial

A photograph of a radial object....

....my radial photograph. I found this at a Kite Fair in Milwaukee. I thought it would work great for this type of photography. I made the background black and white because I wanted the colors to stand out.

Overlapping

Overlapping photograph....

....my overlapping photograph. I thought that this setup worked good for an overlapping picture. I like the different stripes in the photo.

Triangulation

Triangulation photo that I found...

....my triangulation photo. I took this picture of a clothes line in my backyard. I was able to take the picture at an angle where there are triangles hidden within triangles. I didn't count how many were in the picture though.

Arrangement

An arrangement photograph that I found....

....my arrangement. I chose to use the snake because I liked the way it moved. I positioned it on my flip-flops so that it could weave in and out of them. I think it turned out awesome :)

1st Bad Photo

Ok. For one, the girl is itching her butt. Also, there's a big THING in the middle of the picture. The picture was taken at a bad angle as well. Overall, a pretty bad picture.

2nd Bad Photo

This is a bad picture mainly because of the lighting. With all the lighting it makes the picture look blurry and not crisp. I'm sure there is something on a camera to make the lighting not as harsh.

3rd Bad Photo

This picture was taken badly. It's out of focus and I'm not sure what the main point of the picture is suppose to be. They probably needed to change a few settings on their camera or step back a bit.

1st Good Photo

I like the way this picture was taken. It shows distance yet the edge of the fence is close up. I'm not sure what the technical term is, but I like the way they did it.

2nd Good Photo

I think this is a good picture because of the way the light hits her face and how it doesn't look like it's posed--it captures the moment.

3rd Good Photo

I like this picture because it focuses on the flower. I like how the spotlight hits it and the flower looks singled out. It's simple.

KWL

What I know about photography is that it's fun. There are many different settings to take pictures in. Some digital cameras are waterproof. Photography is used in the media alot. It's a form of art. Pictures describe things.

What I want to know is how to get better at taking pictures and editing them.
